Course Review Process

UF’s review process was designed to support instructors in enhancing the quality of their online courses. Participating will give you constructive feedback on essential components of course design and more instructional methodologies.

UF Quality Online Course Review Process

This process emphasizes proven best practices to help instructors create an engaging and effective online learning experience for their students.

The Online Course Quality (OCQ) reviews support one of the goals outlined in Florida’s 2025 Strategic Plan–increasing the number of online courses in the SUS with quality designations. The review process is flexible enough to work across all UF colleges and accommodate instructional differences while increasing overall online course quality.

Review Eligibility

Request a course review if:

  • Your new course has been taught online at least once before the review
  • At least 80% of the course is taught online (synchronously or asynchronously)
  • You have earned a designation previously and changed 20% or more of the course (i.e., new textbook or assignments) and need a streamlined review “update”

Should I Submit My Course for Review?

Not sure if your course should be submitted for review? Use the Online Course Review Decision Tree (PDF) to determine if your course should be submitted for course review.
